Implant treatment ie. insertion of fixtures (screws) in the jawbone in which the crowns bridges and dentures can be attached is a decades proven and documented method (the Brånemark method). "Screws" in the TITAN tapped into the predrilled seats under local anesthesia and left to heal for at least 8 weeks before the new teeth can begin.
To implant titanium screws does not hurt. However, you can experience some pain and swelling several days after the sometimes bruising. This can be treated with painkillers and my experience with hundreds of surgeries, the patient found the procedure less severe than expected.
All fixtures originally came from Nobel Pharma, but now there are a number of years many different manufacturers who also made several established product improvements (such as ytförstoringar). It is of course constantly developing therapies for equipment but as a 100% success for the individual patient's case is little scope for "experimentation" on clinicians of methods that do not yet have a long and adequate follow-up.
